Handling of Personal Information

Kowabo Company, Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Kowabo”) hereby announces the following matters as a personal information handling business operator based on the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

1. Acquisition of personal information and its purposes of use

Kowabo acquires and uses personal information within the scope required to achieve the following purposes of use.

2. Disclosure and provision of personal information to third parties

(1) Kowabo does not provide the personal information of customers to third parties except in cases that fall under one of the following categories.

  • Cases where the consent of the individual has been obtained
  • Cases where disclosure or provision is required by law
  • Cases where it is required for the protection of a person’s life, physical safety or property and obtaining the consent of the individual is difficult
  • Cases where it is required for the improvement of public hygiene or the healthy development of children and obtaining the consent of the individual is difficult
  • Cases where the cooperation of Kowabo is required for a state or local government organization to implement matters established by law and it is possible that obtaining the consent of the individual may hinder the implementation of said matters

(2) Apart from the above, Kowabo may entrust personal information to contractors to the extent necessary in order to carry out its business smoothly. (Technical security management measures)

• Kowabo implements access control and restricts the personnel and the scope of personal information that they handle.

• Kowabo has introduced mechanisms that protect information systems used in the handling of personal information from unauthorized access from outside and malware.

(Understanding of the external environment)

• Kowabo implements security management measures after understanding the systems for the protection of personal information in each country where it stores personal information.

4. Use of cookies

Cookies are pieces of information sent to a customer’s browser from a web server when a customer has accessed a specific website, and are stored on the customer’s computer. Kowabo uses cookies to enable customers to view its website more conveniently when they visit again.
